Organizations help provide a fun Halloween for kids

Each year Halloween is celebrated in many different ways. Students spend their day Trick or Treating with little siblings, handing out candy, or hanging out with friends and family.

Trunk or Treat has been a tradition in Fairbury for many years. Organizations like FCCLA, StuCo, and many others have set up their cars around the town square to hand out candy for the youth in our community.

“I chose to help with FCCLA Trunk or Treat,” Keilani Trimm ‘24 said. “I wanted to do something that will help out FCCLA and I wanted to help out the little kids and make their Halloween enjoyable.”

FCCLA has a unique tradition where they hand out books and candy. This tradition has been around for over 15 years.

“It provides opportunities to kids,” FCCLA advisor Delaney Hamel said. “Some families may not have those resources.”

Students that aren’t involved in school organizations still find a way to be involved in Trunk or Treat.

“I helped my church with Trunk or Treat,”Ray Bedlan ‘24 said. “I thought it was a good idea to help and support my church, and it’s always fun to see the kids’ costumes.”
