Burkley and Stall compete at the state meet

On Thursday Oct. 13 the cross country runners competed in the C-1 district meet. Shaye Stall ‘17 place 4th and Emily Burkely ‘18 placed 7th, qualifying for another season ending at the state meet in Kearney. The state meet was hosted in Kearney on Friday Oct. 21. Burkley placed 34th out of 93 total runners. Stall PR’d her time by three seconds in the state meet clenching the 12th place title. IMG_9091.JPG

Cross Country girls bring back the win

On Thursday, Oct. 6, the Fairbury cross country team traveled to Filmore Central to compete in their conference meet. The girls team came back as conference champions. The boys team came back with a fourth place finish.

Leading the girls team was Shaye Stall ’17 finishing 2nd,finishing next was Emily Burkley ’18 placing 4th, close behind Burkley was Lili Estrada ’17 placing 5th, Autumn Branson ’19 finished 17th, and Darby Paulsen ’20 placing 37th.

The boys team had one medalist Garret Ragland ’17. Other finishers were Jon Engelman ’17 placing 21st, Isaac Robertson ’19 placed 24th, Jared Engelman ’19 finished 25th, Dalton Buxton ’19 placed 33rd, and Devin Holliday ’19 finished 39th.

Cross Country places 2nd

On Thursday September 22nd the cross country team traveled into Titan territory at Thayer Central. All of the girls placed in the top 15. Shaye Stall ‘17 leading the pack placing 2nd. Emily Burkley ‘18 placing 4th. Lili Estrada ‘18 placing 8th. Autumn Branson ‘19 closing the pack placing 14th. The girls placed 2nd out of 11 teams. The boys team placed 3rd out of 11 teams. With Garret Ragland ‘18 placing 10. Jon Engelman ‘17 placing 12. Dalton Buxton ‘19 placing 15. Jared Engelman ‘19 placing 17. Isaac Robertson ‘19 placing 19. Devin Holliday ‘19 placing 20. Samuel monterroso ‘20 placing 29. Braden Graham ‘19 placing 38. RJ Suey ‘19 placed 42. Damian Vculek ‘19 placed 45, followed by Dillon Weichel placing 58.

Cross Country competes well at Filmore

The cross country team competed at Filmore Central last Thursday, September 15. The girls finished well placing fourth as a team. The boys team finished eighth as a team.

Leading the girls team was Shaye Stall who finished fourth followed by Lili Estrada who placed 15th, Emily Burkley who placed 27th, and Autumn Branson who placed 41st.

Leading the boys team was Garret Ragland who placed 27th, close behind was Dalton Buxton who finished 28th, Isaac Robertson who placed 42nd, Jared Engelman who placed 50th, and Devin Holliday who placed 65th. autumncropped

Cross Country Dominates Home Invite

Lilibeth Estrada ’17 runs on Thursday Sept. 8 at the Fairbury Invite. Estrada was part of the runner up girls cross country team. 

On Sept. 8 the Fairbury Cross Country team hosted their home invite. The Jeffs had a great day on the course as the girls team finished runner up while the boys finished third in the team standings.

For the girls Shaye Stall’17 had another strong day as she finished second individually. Garret Ragland’17 led the boys team as he finished tenth. The next competition for the Fairbury Cross Country team is Thursday Sept. 15 at Fillmore Central.

Devin Holliday ’19 tries to keep ahead of the competition at the Fairbury Invite. Holliday finished 33rd in the race. 

Cross Country Does Well at Superior

Shaye Stall ’17 runs at the Superior Invite. Stall finished as the meet runner up.

On Sept. 1 the Fairbury Cross Country team traveled to compete in the Superior Invite. It was a great day on the course for the Jeffs. The boys team finished third as a team and was led by Garret Ragland ’17 who placed fourth. Other boys medalists for the Jeffs were Dalton Buxton ’19, Jonathan Engelman ’17 and Isaac Robertson ’19.

On the girls side only three girls ran, due to injuries. However all three girls placed in the invite as Shaye Stall’17 got runner up. Lilibeth Estrada ‘ 17 and Autumn Branson ’16 were also medalists.

Cross Country Takes Off Into Season

The Fairbury Cross Country team began conditioning on Aug. 8. The cross country team returns quite a bit of experience for both the girls and boys team. On the boys side they return five varsity runners from last year’s team. Leading that group will be Garret Ragland ’17. Ragland  was a state qualifier for the Jeffs last year.

The girls team looks to continue its dominance as they have qualified for state as a team each of the last three years. From last year’s state qualifying team they return Shaye Stall ’17, Lilibeth Estrada ’17, Emily Burkely ’18 and Autumn Branson ’19. The first competition for the cross country team will be Sept. 1 at the Superior Invite.
