Golfers take on Beatrice; Superior invites

The Fairbury boys golf team traveled to Beatrice on April 24 to play in the Beatrice Invitational. The team struggled and ended up shooting a 424 for the team’s score. Robby Meyer ’17 led the charge for the Jeffs as he shot a 96 and finished in twelfth.

However the Jeffs rebounded on April 25 when they traveled to Superior. The Jeffs shot a 372 as a team score and finished as runner up in the team race. Justin Peterson ’17 won the invite as an individual and shot a 74 on the day. Robby Meyer ’17 finished as the invite runner up as he shot an 84.

The next competition for the Fairbury Golfers is Monday, May 1 as they will compete in the Crete Invite.

Jeffs win Beatrice dual

On March 22, the Fairbury boys golf team traveled to Beatrice to compete in a dual with the Beatrice boys golf team. The team score was 183-189 in favor of the Jeffs. Nick Christiansen ’16 was the runner-up medalist of the dual shooting a 39. Zach Reikofski ’18 shot a 46. Robby Meyer ’17 also shot a 46. Justin Peterson ’17 hit a 52. Dylan Au ’16 shot a 56, and Blake Bauer ’17 rounded up the varsity team with a score of 59.

For JV the Jeffs won by a final score of 117-126. Anthony Moyer ’17 shot the best on the JV team with a score of 55. Ace York ’19 shot a 62. Tanner Novotny ’17 shot a 63, and Keyten Pfingsten ’18 rounded up the JV team with a score of 65.

Fairbury Boys Golf

The Fairbury Jeffs boys golf team returned to practice Monday, March 7. They return 3 varsity members which include Nick Christiansen ’16, Justin Peterson ’17, and Zach Reikofski ’18. Christiansen and Peterson are both returning state qualifiers. The first competition is a duel at Beatrice on March 22. The first invite is March 24 at seward.

Christiansen signs golf scholarship with Doane

Nick Christiansen ’16 signed to play golf at Doane College on Wednesday January, 13. Head Doane men’s golf coach Myron Parsley was in attendance for the signing. Christiansen ’16 was an individual state qualifier both his sophomore year and junior year. Christiansen will attend Doane in the fall of 2016.
