Cross country celebrates end of season

The cross country team celebrated the end of the season this year with a banquet.

The banquet was held on Monday, October 25 and consisted of both the junior high and high school teams.

“I think it went really well,” head cross country coach Drew Stone said. “It was my first year as head coach doing the banquet due to me being sick last year.”

At the banquet the cross country team reflected and went through the memories of this season with photos and a video. Students were also given awards of participation for their effort they put into the year and seniors Ethan Smith and Alissa York got the fastest home court time for this year.

“I think the banquet was great,” Cora Tatro ‘23 said. “My favorite was the video of our team.”

The night ended with the seniors of this year saying goodbye to their fellow athletes and giving them a few words of encouragement and some advice.

“It’s hard to see any senior go,” Coach Stone said. “They have been a very positive group and great role models, it will be tough to fill the senior roles but I hope that we will have future kids fill those roles.”
