XC runs on a college course at Kearney

The Cross Country team headed to University of Nebraska Kearney for a varsity only meet. The boys got 30th out of 38 teams and the girls placed 25th out of 32 teams

Kearney is a college course which is why only the varsity ran at the meet. It is one of the more difficult courses the team runs on. “Hills. Hills. Hills,” Ethan Smith ‘22 said referring to the course.

Despite the difficult course, the team thought they all did pretty well. “I think they were prepared for the race,” Head Coach Drew Stone said, “They have been working very hard and we had some great times on a course that is very challenging.”

This year the state meet is at Kearney so the runners had a chance to run it before the state meet so they have a feeling of what the course is like. But if they want to place, they have to practice hard from now till then.
