Spanish Club has their first meeting

Abigail Judd ’21 welcoming the members to the first Spanish club meeting

On Tuesday morning Spanish Club had their first meeting and discussed their activities for October and November.

For their first meeting, more than 20 students showed up to become members. “I was very pleased with the turnout for our first meeting. We had about 26 students attend. I also have other students contact me that were unable to attend this morning but want to join.” Mary Ann Johnson said.

The new president for the club this year is Abigail Judd ’21 who has some goals for the club. “As president of Spanish club I’d like to fundraise as much as possible and help as many nonprofits in Fairbury. I love Spanish club because it is all about philanthropy. We as a club want to make a difference in our community. Because of the virus we weren’t able to do our dance which is a big fundraiser for use so maybe we can look into some new fundraisers,” Judd said.

Spanish Club’s next meeting will be on the morning of October 5. They will plan some more volunteering opportunities and talk about cultural awareness and appreciation.
