Lady Jeffs volleyball falls short to Freeman

In the Lady Jeffs started their first regular season game of the year on a strong note. Even though they fell to the Falcons they were able to stay in the game for all five sets. The Falcons were an evenly competitive team to the Jeffs, trading off every other set.

“I think when we got a good pass and set that our hitter were able to use the ball and hit it across into different spots that they could tell were open.” Junior Karly McCord said.

The Jeffs were able to take the first and third sets but fell short in the fifth set with a score of 15-9. Serving and passing errors were the main reason for the Jeffs fall to the Falcons, but there was some good that came out of the game. The Jeffs had multiple blocks from Mikwena Lierman ’21, Karly McCord ’22, and Emily Huss ’23. These three players gave the Lady Jeffs an advantage against the Falcons.

“Some things we can improve on as a team is staying aggressive in every aspect of the game.” Alyse Petersen ’23 said. “There is always something that can be improved and we are only going to get better which I’m excited for.”

The Jeffs will need to keep their aggressive attitudes as they prepare for their upcoming home game on September 1 against the Milford Eagles.
