Fairbury Boys Basketball came out on top against the York Dukes in a home contest on Friday, January 24.
Five Jeffs contributed to the final score of 52-48 with Chance Amundson ’20 (18), Bret Cole ’20 (15) and Dylan Starr ’21 (11) leading the point total. A solid scoring effort was just one key to victory going into the game.
“We needed to be effective on offense, and we had to play lights-out defense,” Cole said. “We played together as a team. No one tried getting the job done by themselves. It was a team effort.”

18 of the Jeffs’ 52 points came from beyond the three-point line. 18 rebounds were compiled at the boards, and 12 steals (including 5 from Amundson) kept York’s offense honest.
“We knew that they would be a solid team,” Dalton Petersen ’20 said. “We were more focused on what we needed to do. We played together and made big plays.”
The Jeffs went on to win again in another close home game against Sandy Creek with a final score of 45-44 on Tuesday, January 28.
