Jeffs cage the Eagles with a strong offense

Last Friday the football team travelled to Milford and won with a score of 27-13. Johnathon Kerwood ’20 earned overall player of the game. Seth Firmanik ’20 was Offensive Player of the game. Defensive Player of the game was awarded to Domenic Hyson ’21, and Special Teams Player of the Game was Jason Hughes ’20. The Jeffs are now back to a .500 record at 3-3. Their next game is the homecoming game against Central City this Friday.

“I thought the offensive line played really well,” Head Coach Matt Edson said. “We need to continue to work on all aspects of the game, this week we want to continue to work on our  3 front blocking scheme, tackling, and knowledge of our game plan and plays.”

Coach Edson said he thought the offensive line played really well. Firmanik led the team in rushing and score four touchdowns. Firmanik is proud of how the team performed last Friday.

“Football is a team sport,” Firmanik said. “We all did great and kept grinding when the game was close. Individually, I had a really good game, but that’s because of my teammates.”
