Lady Jeffs Softball takes down Milford

The Lady Jeffs Softball team traveled to Milford on Thursday to take on the number 5 ranked Milford Eagles. The top ranked team blew the Eagles out of the water with a 6-inning will against Milford. The Lady Jeffs won the game 15-1. The Jeffs got ahead of the Eagles in the 4th and 6th innings. The Jeffs had 4 runs in the 4th inning and secured the game with 6 runs in the 6th. The Jeffs only allowed the Eagles to score once throughout the game.

“I think all together we played extremely well. I felt like our defense was amazing, and we all worked together as a team.” Junior Mallonee Biehl said.

Biehl was also able to hit her first home run of the season against Milford and is expecting more throughout the season.

Raven DeFrain ’20, Jami Mans ’22 and Cora DeBoer ’20 were the top hitters for the night each having 3 hits. DeFrain and DeBoer both also had the 2 RBI’s for the game. Pitcher Jami Mans pitched all 6 innings and struck out 5 batters.

The Jeffs played an amazing game and are looking forward to the rest of the season, chipping away at their way to state.
