Last Friday the football team travelled to Ashland-Greenwood where they fell 40-0 and lost Senior Bret Cole to a leg injury. Domenic Hyson ’21 was awarded Defensive Player of the Game, and Cole was awarded Special Teams Player of the Game. The team will play at Falls City this Friday.
Head Coach Matt Edson said the team is taking this game as an opportunity to learn from their mistakes. He also said they will continue to work towards their goals. The number one goal for the Falls City game is to “Win!”
“I thought the defense played really well against the run and shut down one of the better running backs in Class C1,” Coach Edson said. “We must continue to work on our offense and defending the pass at all levels of the defense.”
Cole was injured during the third quarter of the game. Teammate Brody Kroll ’21 got tackled into Cole’s leg. As of right now, the doctors think Cole tore his MCL. An official diagnosis will be confirmed with an MRI later this week.
“Anytime one of your players gets injured it is hard to overcome,” Coach Edson said. “Bret is a captain and a good leader for our football team, I hope Bret has a speedy recovery and can return to sports as soon as possible!”

I’m sure Brets teammates will keep him in their prayers.
God bless you all
