Mr. David Davis drives home the message of a “hard-working Jeff”

The annual Booster Bash was held on the first day of school, Wednesday, August 21. The event started with a meal provided by parents, organizations, and local businesses. Bruce Livingston donated the pork for the sandwiches. Then, the cheerleaders performed in the BFAC before Athletic Director Mr. David Davis took the stage to give a speech.

“I thought it was a good opportunity to introduce myself and explain my background,” Mr. Davis said. “I thought the Booster Bash went really well. There were a lot of student athletes there which was good to see because the Booster Bash is for them.”

Mr. Davis has big goals for the upcoming year both academically and athletically. Academically, he wants to see students passing their classes and seniors earning huge scholarships. Athletically, he wants to see athletes and teams improving.

“The main goal is for everyone to be the best they can be,” Mr. Davis said. “I’m excited to see all the accomplishments from our student athletes this year.”

Senior Sara Huss attended the Booster Bash and was impacted by Mr. Davis’s speech. Huss is involved in Volleyball, Basketball, Track, FFA, Student Council, and NHS. She hopes to use Mr. Davis’s speech as inspiration throughout the year.

“The speech was a great reminder for not just students, but other parents and supporters of the Jeffs about the importance of being a hard worker,” Huss said. “I will be carrying this message with me this year and doing my best to embody it as well as pass it on to others.”
