Last week nine FBLA members travelled to Lincoln to compete at the Spring Leadership Conference. Members included Devin Holliday ’19, Isaac Robertson ’19, Joy Ondrak ’19, Mikasa Lierman ’19, Jayson Klaumann ’19, Jaelle Johnson ’20, Jillian Caroon ’20, Josh Robertson ’21, and Brylee Yantz ’21.
“I had a great time at my last State Leadership Conference,” FBLA President Isaac Robertson said. “I was with a great group of friends and I felt like I did my best in my tests and presentations.”
Honorable Mentions were awarded to Yantz for Introduction to Business, Johnson for Journalism, Robertson ’21 for Introductions to Financial Math, Klaumann for Organizational Leadership, and Caroon for Insurance and Risk Management. The Sports and Entertainment Management Team consisting of Robertson ’19, Lierman, and Ondrak got third and qualified for the National Competition to be held this Summer in San Antonio, Texas.
“I’m very proud of how we competed,” FBLA Sponsor Mr. Gale Bly said. “There were around 750 kids competing and some tests had over 300 kids per category!” This is Bly’s last year as FBLA Sponsor, as he is retiring. FCS Teacher and current FCCLA Sponsor will be taking over for Bly next year.
