Lady Jeffs bring home the gold

The Lady Jeffs track team traveled to Seward on Thursday March 14 to compete at their first track meet of the season. The track meet was hosted at Concordia University’s indoor track facility.

Due to poor weather the team has had limited time with their field events and time on the track. Although, the girls did not let that hinder their performance. The Lady Jeffs team received first place.

“The girls did an outstanding job yesterday competing against tough Class B competition,” Girls head track coach Matt Edson said. “It was an exciting day yesterday, and going to be a fun season!”

At the beginning of the year, the girls came up with some goals for the season: Push your teammates everyday, be positive and have a good attitude, 10 plus girls make state, break school records, 25 letter winners, win every meet.

The lady Jeffs next meet will be Tuesday, March 19 at Thayer Central. Saturday March 23 will be the Fairbury Invite at 9:30 am.
