During the last week of February, FCCLA, FFA, Student Council, NHS, and FBLA joined together to help the elementary kids celebrate “Give the Gift of Reading.” High School students travelled down to Central Elementary during the day to read Dr. Seuss books to the younger kids during their lunch.
“I thought it was a great experience for the kids to meet a high schooler and hear someone read to them, but it was a little confusing at first,” senior Taylea Mills said. “I had no idea what I was doing. In the end though, I think I had more fun than the kids did.”
In addition to reading books to the children, students helped on Thursday, February 28 during the elementary fun night. The fun night was held at the high school. There was a pancake feed, games, and community members volunteered to read Dr. Seuss books.
