Boys Basketball fights hard, but can’t top Malcolm

The Fairbury boys basketball team competed in Norris on Wednesday against the Malcolm Clippers in the subdistricts game. The games were supposed to be held on Tuesday but because of conflicting weather it was moved to Wednesday at the same time.

The Jeffs held their ground through 3 quarters staying ahead of the Clippers. In the fourth quarter the Jeffs seemed to die out letting Malcolm rack up the points to initially win the game.

The Jeffs lost 38-52 resulting in the end of the season for the 2018-19 boys basketball season. Although the team did not go as far as they hoped to they still improved a lot throughout the season and hope to improve even more next season.

“I think our team chemistry improved throughout the year as well as our flow on the court. At the beginning of the season, we were really worried about running the play exactly like it’s supposed to be ran instead of just playing basketball and looking to score. I think we did a better job of being relaxed on the court by the end of the year.” Senior Isaac Robertson said.

Catch the Fairbury Jeffs boys basketball team next season as they work to improve and hopefully go farther in their careers.
