The Fairbury swimmers had a lot of success at their home triangular against South Sioux and Skutt Catholic. The girls team won the meet. Sophomore Mikwena Lierman broke the NBFF team record for the 50 free with a time of 24.88.
“I was really surprised I broke the record at a triangular, but I was super excited that I finally broke it,” Lierman said. She also competed in the 200 medley relay, 100 free, and 200 free relay. She won all those events as well.
The guys 200 free relay secondary qualified for state with a time of 1:51.52. They also won their 200 medley relay. Senior Colton Starck won the 50 free with a season best time of 22.91, and senior RJ Suey won the 500 free with a time of 6:07.61. The NBFF team competes again on Saturday, January 12 in Ralston.
