The Jeffs won a close game 45-43 over HTRS on Thursday, December 20. The next games are at their holiday tournament on Friday, December 28. The tournament is being held at Lincoln Lutheran with the first game starting at one.
“We came out a bit flat, and that wasn’t totally unexpected from my perspective,” Head Coach Lyle Thompson said. “We are tired both mentally and physically, and were looking forward to a few days off. At the same time, we still had to play. Fortunately, the game is two halves long, and we came out with some energy and pride in the second half and were able to turn a not so good situation completely around.”
Their leading scorers were Sara Huss ’20 with a total of 14 points. Jaelle Johnson ’20 and Karly McCord ’22 tied with ten points overall. Johnson and McCord also tied for the most rebounds at three. Huss came in second with two.
“We did not play our best on Thursday,” Sara Huss ’20 said. “However, we were able to work hard and dig deep to get the win in the end. I couldn’t be more proud of how my team stuck with it and pushed through.”
