Jeffs lose close game to the Cardinals

On Friday, December 14 the Jeffs boys basketball team played the Crete Cardinals. The Jeffs came into the game with a 3-3 record and the Cardinals were 0-4.  The Final score of the game was 41-43. Joe Melcher ’20 Fouled with 6 seconds left on the clock allowing the Cardinals to get ahead at the last few seconds of the game.

Even with the loss the Jeffs had a very successful night with 8 three pointers. They also started the game off to a little bit of a rough start with a score of 9-18 but came through in the third quarter scoring 12 points with the opposing team only scoring 4.

Chance Amundson ’20 led the team with 24 points in the game. This made him the top scorer of the night for the Jeffs.

“I think we fought back hard in the second half, but if we want to win those big games we need to play like we did in the second half for the whole game, not just the last two quarters,” Senior Isaac Robertson said.
