On Tuesday, December 4 the junior varsity boys basketball team played Superior in their first home game of the season. After running neck and neck the entire game, the Jeffs prevailed 40-39.

“Our biggest strength on the court is that we play together and unselfish,” Joshua Robertson ’21 said. “We don’t care who makes a play or scores a point. We’re just out there to win games together.”

Even though they pulled out a win, it wasn’t an easy game for the Jeffs.

“As a team we came in really confident that we would be able to blow Superior out of the water,” Zane Grizzle ’22 said. “After the first quarter, we knew that we had a very tough game ahead of us.”

At half time they tackled the adversities they were facing as team and motivated themselves to come back and fight in the second half.

“After that we all had some energy and we were playing with a chip on our shoulder,” Grizzle said. “It was still a close game but we kept working hard throughout the whole game.”
