On Oct. 6, the Junior High Volleyball team travelled to Hebron to compete in the Thayer Central Invitational. The team started off the day at 9:00 playing Wilber-Clatonia. The Jeffs defeated the Wolverines in 2 sets. They then went on to win against Fillmore Central in two sets. They would now face Thayer Central in the championship match.
“We really wanted to play Thayer Central because we knew we could beat them again,” Hannah Robertson ’23 said.
The game was a back and forth battle that went to three sets, but in the end the Jeffs came out on top. This was the Jeffs last game of the season and they walked away as champions.
“Coach kept telling us we were gonna get first and we stuck to that,” Alyse Peterson ’23 said. “We played well and fought hard for the W.”
The Jeffs season started out a little rocky, but by working hard in practice the team ended their season with a first place win in the Thayer Central Invite.
“We started out pretty rough, but as the season went on we started to get better at talking to each other on the court and playing more as a team,” Robertson said.
