A sudden time change for the Randall-Smith invite in Hebron did not affect the Jeffs’ performance on Thursday, September 20. The threat of bad weather pushed the original starting times of both boys and girls up an hour earlier than originally scheduled.

During the first class period, runners were emailed an announcement saying that both girls’ and boys’ start times moved up an hour. This came as a shock to some runners, but Fairbury performed well nonetheless.
The Lady Jeffs won the meet that included eight other schools. Placing on the girls’ team were Josephine Blatny ’20 (4th), Alissa York ’22 (8th), Autumn Branson ’19 (14th), Mikwena Lierman ’21 (16th), Kacy Starck ’21 (26th), and Mariel Ramos ’22 (28th). The boys’ team finished third overall out of ten schools. Runners were Braden Graham ’22 (13th), Isaac Robertson ’19 (14th), Jared Engelman ’19 (16th), Devin Holliday ’19 (20th), Dylan Starr ’21 (36th), and Ethan Johnson ’22 (43rd).
The runners compete again on Monday, September 24 when they travel to Kearney.
