Cross Country runs against tough competition

The Fairbury Cross Country team traveled to Fillmore Central on September 13th to compete against some tough competition. There were 19 teams at the meet. The Girls Team placed sixth and the Boys Team placed 13th. Junior Josephine Blatny placed fifth earning her a medal.

“Cross Country goes against teams that are in classes lower and higher than them so the competition is always a little tougher than regular sports,”Mikwena Lierman ’21 said.

There were no Junior High results for the meet but the top runner for the Girls Team was Cora Tatro ’23 who placed 16th and Seth Engelman ’23 placed 34th. The Junior High team also competed against 19 other teams at the meet.
