Last Saturday, the JHigh Track team battled through some less than ideal weather conditions at the Aurora Middle School Track Meet. They were even able to pull out a few wins in certain events. The seventh grade girls placed fifth. The eighth grade girls placed ninth. The seventh grade boys placed ninth, and the eighth grade boys placed eighth.
A few highlights from the meet on the girls side included Mikya Lierman ’23 winning the 400 meter dash and pole vault with a time of 1:08:62 and a height of 6’6, Emily Huss ’23 winning the discus with a throw of 74-05.25 and Karly McCord ’22 winning the shootout with a throw of 30-00.05.
The boys also had some outstanding performances. Devon Carol ’23 won both the 800 meter dash and 1600 meter run with times of 2:28:29 and 5.17.90. Alex Buxton ’22 won the 100 meter hurdles with a time of 16.17.
