Boys golf with a strong start

The Fairbury Boys golf season started on Monday, February 26th. With 8 boys out, it is the same amount as last year but according to head coach Jed Martin there are usually about 14 boys. There is one freshman, Aden Watson. Five sophomores, Devin Wanamaker, John Kerwood, Joe Melcher, Keith Lee, and Dalton Peterson. Two juniors, Trevin Arnold and Owen Blocker.

On the first day of practice, Trevin Arnold ’19 tees off on the first hole at the Fairbury Country Club Golf Course. This will be Arnold’s first year golfing.

“It’s not how you start the hole, but how you finish it,” Dalton Peterson ’20 said. “The first couple of practices have went well, we still have a lot to learn and improve on.”

The team’s first dual against Beatrice on March 20th and the first invite is on March 23rd in Seward. Their home invite is Thursday, April 19th.
