Fairbury Girls Varsity fell to Auburn with a final score of 32 to 58. Sara Huss ’20 was the leading scorer with 7 points. Jaelle Johnson ’20 and Jessa Eden ’19 tied with 6. Macy Ohlde ’18 was next with 5 points.
“We need to clean some things up on the defensive end and make sure we can shut down their shooters,” said Head Coach Amy Engle-Evans. Offensively we got some really good looks, both from the paint and the perimeter we just need to finish.”
“On Friday I think we didn’t play to the level that we are capable of,” said Sara Huss ’20. “Though with lots of credit to Auburn and their defensive pressure which made it tough for us to get into our offense. Personally I think games like those help out team to grow mentally stronger and to learn that there are factors that are beyond our control. Even though we lost, it is definitely a lot of “fuel for our fire” persay for the rest of the season.”
