Jamboree game tips-off pre-season

On Monday, November 26th the girls and boys varsity basketball teams will be heading up to Syracuse to take action in a Jamboree game. Fairbury hosted its first jamboree game last year against Syracuse. The game will continue to switch locations year to year, as regular season games typically do.

“I plan on trying to get a different opponent in the future and trying to get Syracuse in on the regular season. In general, the jamboree game needs to have different opponents every once in awhile but we’ll see what happens in the future,” athletic director Derek Anderson said.

Players and coaches alike think the jamboree game is a great opportunity for their teams. It provides insight as well as an idea to where the teams stand before officially starting the season.

“I think the jamboree game helps the basketball teams tremendously. It helps the teams realize what they need to work on and allows them to run their offenses in a real game experience before their actual first game,” captain Macy Ohlde ‘18 said.
