Preparing for the pursuit of February

The Fairbury Jeffs Wrestling team is gearing up for their upcoming season. They just finished their conditioning week and their first practice is today. Their first meet is on December 2 at York.

“We are looking forward to being better than we were last year and having a lot of experienced varsity wrestlers coming back,” said Head Wrestling Coach Derek Garfield.  “Conditioning week went really good and we have 24 hard-working kids out. We want to make it to State and place in the top 10.”

“I’m excited. My goals from the summer are to make it to state, get better everyday, and at the end of the day focus on the reason why I’m doing Wrestling which is to get better for football,” said Trent Grizzle ’18.

“I’m ready to wrestle in bigger tournaments like Conference and Districts, especially Districts to see if I can make it to State,” said Carson York ’20. “My goals are to have at least 25 wins and make it to State.”
