On Wednesday, October 11 the lady Jeffs softball team took on Fillmore Central/ Exeter-Milligan at 9:00 in the first round of the state softball tournament. First inning, second pitch of the game Cora DeBoer ’20 hit a home run to start the game off strong. After the first inning of play, the Jeffs came out on top with 3 runs and FCEM 0. The Jeffs brought three more runs across the plate during the second inning, and FCEM 0. Neither team scored in the third inning but in the fourth inning, the Jeffs added three more runs to the board making the score 9-0. And the final score after 5 innings of play: Jeffs 15 FCEM 5.
The Jeffs second game was at 4:30 Wednesday afternoon. They fell short to Bishop Nueman after 7 innings of play with a score of 3-0. The Lady Jeffs will now play at 11:30 on Thursday morning.
