Softball starts Districts off strong

On Friday, October 6, 2017 the Fairbury Softball team played two games for Districts. The games were postponed from the previous day due to rain. The games were originally planned to be at Valparaiso, but they were moved to Fairbury for better field conditions.

The first game was against Wilber. They won with a final score of 11-1. Cora DeBoer, Tori Likens, Jaelle Johnson, Macy Ohlde and Sarah McCown all scored two runs. Destiny Warnke scored one. Sarah McCown hit a homerun in the second inning with 2 RBIs. Macy Ohlde also had 2 RBIs in the fourth inning.

Fairbury’s second game was against Raymond Central. Fairbury won 6-1. Macy Ohlde had a grand slam. Cora DeBoer hit a triple and Claire Shumard hit a double.
