The FFA organization had a family picnic at Camp Jefferson last Sunday. Overall there was a large turnout of family and friends of the chapter. At 6:00 p.m. the meal officially began. Beforehand, the freshmen and sophomores were instructed to bring a side dish while the juniors and seniors would show up with a dessert. Advisor Thomas Dux provided the main course; hot dogs and hamburgers.
After the meal, students were able to bond over activities around the camp. Members were spotted swimming in the pool, fishing, playing a game of football, or just walking around enjoying the local scenery. While doing so, the parents had a meeting to discuss the upcoming year of events that the organization would entail. “We’ve done it for the last couple of years and it’s a great way to meet some of the parents from the freshmen to senior kids. It’s a great event of fellowship for our chapter,” Dux said.
