On Tuesday night, the Lady Jeffs took on the Fillmore Central Panthers. To start the game, both teams were tied at the end of inning one. On defense, a routine 6-4-3 double by the Jeffs brings an end to that inning. The Jeffs’ next time at the plate, Macy Ohlde ’18 leads off with a triple and Delaney Miller ’19 sacrifices a fly ball out to score Ohlde. Throughout the whole game, the Panthers kept a close score on the Jeffs. Both teams were battling back and forth to make it quite the nail-biter.
At the top of the seventh inning, Jeffs are the home team. Unfortunately, they allow the Panthers to score three runs, tying the game 7-7. Another chance at the plate, Jaelle Johnson ’20 got walked and Claire Shumard ’20 sacrifice bunted Johnson over to second base. When Marah Shumard ’18 hit a single, Johnson rounded the bases to third. Cora DeBoer is up and hits Johnson in for the winning run.
