Fairbury Girls’ Golf kicks off season with invitational at Beatrice

The Fairbury Girls’ Golf team competed in their invitational of the season in Beatrice on Tuesday, August 22.

Leading the team with a score of 110 was Sara Mitchell ’19, followed by Evie Schwab ’18 with a 125, then Casey Nimmich ’20 with a 135. Lauren Patton ’20 scored a 138 and Shavara Kroeker ’18 shot a 150.

The team score was 508, earning Fairbury 5th place in Class B at the Beatrice Invitational.

After 5 and half hours of golfing in 80 degree weather, the team came away with sunburns to prove it. They discussed their performance and are in preparation for their next meet.

The girls’ golf team will be in action again on Thursday, August 24 on their home course in a dual against Beatrice and on Friday, August 25 in an invitational at Seward.
