Dalton Buxton ’19 and Tanner Novotny ’17 competed in the Drone Tech contest, which consists of being able to fly a drone and the other half was a journal about drones.  They were able to bring home a state championship as they earned a gold medal in the contest.

“The notebook was worth 700 points and that’s the only reason we won because nobody else had theirs done. But our flying was pretty solid too. ” Buxton said.

Also competing and bringing home a state championship was Madison Gregory ’19, as she took first place in the Cosmetology contest. The gold medal came as a surprise to Gregory.

“There was a lot of girls that did very well . . . I knew that I did good, but I didn’t think that I was even going to place,” Gregory said.

Being able to bring home some hardware from the state convention was a great accomplishment. Both Buxton ’19 and Gregory ’19 plan to return to the state convention and defend their state championships.
