Boys basketball plays well after Christmas break

The Fairbury boys basketball team traveled to Tri-County on Jan. 5 to take on the Trojans. The game was a close one throughout the game as at the end of the third quarter the score was 34-33 in favor of Tri-County. The Jeffs came on strong in the fourth quarter and outscored the Trojans, to earn the victory by a final score of 50-45. Cayman DeBoer ‘18 was the leading scorer for the Jeffs as he finished the game with 16 points.

On Friday Jan. 6 the Jeffs hit the road again, as they traveled to Aurora to take on a tough Aurora Huskies team. Aurora led the Jeffs by a score of 39-23 at the half. The Huskies outscored the Jeffs in the second half and got the victory by a score of 75-51.

Head basketball coach Travis Steinhoff  thought his team did well in the two games. “We couldn’t hit shots against Tri-County, so the score didn’t show how well we played. Honestly, I thought we played well against Aurora…” head coach Travis Steinhoff said.
