On Dec. 29 the Fairbury boys basketball team traveled to Raymond Central to take on the Mustangs. The Jeffs showed no sign of rust after the Christmas break as they outscored Raymond Central 27-21 in the first half . They never looked back as they went on to win the game 70-51.
Coach Travis Steinhoff thought that the game helped his team gain some confidence. “I thought it gave us some confidence . . . we’re shooting the ball better,” Coach Steinhoff said.
The Jeffs got a boost from Chancellor Amundson ’20 who scored 18 points. Cayman DeBoer ’18 and Blake Bauer ’17 both had big games as well, as DeBoer had 16 points on the night and Bauer finished with 15 points. Both Bauer and DeBoer finished the night with nine rebounds.
The next action for the Jeffs is Tuesday, January 5 as they travel to Tri-County to take on the Tri-County Trojans.
